This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how MOOSYC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use moosyc.com, our mobile or desktop applications, and related services (the "Service").
01Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account InformationName, email address, password, and profile information you provide when creating an account. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic account information necessary to authenticate your account.
- Music ContentAudio files, artwork, metadata, and other information you upload for distribution.
- Payment InformationPayments are processed securely by trusted third-party providers such as Stripe and Apple Pay. We do not store your payment card details on our servers.
- Usage DataLimited technical and diagnostic information necessary to operate, secure, and improve the Service, such as browser and device information.
- Cookies & Similar TechnologiesWe use cookies and similar technologies for essential service functionality, limited analytics, and to measure our own advertising (see "Our own ads" below).
02How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- Manage your account and facilitate music distribution.
- Communicate with you about your account, support requests, or important service updates.
- Understand how the Service is used to improve performance and reliability.
- Develop new features and enhance the user experience.
- Send marketing communications where you have chosen to receive them.
- Comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
04Our own ads
We advertise MOOSYC on Facebook and Instagram, which belong to Meta Platforms. To learn which of our ads work, and to show them to the right people, we share limited information with Meta:
- Visits and sign-upswhen you use moosyc.com, the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API tell Meta which page you viewed and whether you signed up, started a checkout or subscribed. Each event carries technical information (such as your browser, device and IP address) and Meta’s own cookie identifiers, and for a sign-up or a purchase also your email address and account ID in hashed form (turned into a code that cannot be read back).
- Custom audienceswe may upload the email addresses of MOOSYC accounts to Meta, hashed in the same way, so that our ads are not shown to people who already use MOOSYC and so that Meta can show them to people with similar interests. Meta compares the hashes with its own users and deletes them after matching; it processes them on our behalf and may not use them for anything else.
- What Meta never receives from usyour music, your earnings, your payout or bank details, your password or your payment card details.
- Legal basisour legitimate interest in measuring and improving our own advertising.
- Your controlyou can object at any time by emailing privacy@moosyc.com. We then leave your email address out of every future upload and remove it from audiences already uploaded. You can also control the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram in Meta’s own ad settings.
05AI assistants you connect
You can choose to connect an AI assistant, such as Claude (by Anthropic) or ChatGPT (by OpenAI), to your MOOSYC account. Nothing is shared until you approve the connection on a MOOSYC page that names the app and where you will be sent afterwards. A connected assistant can only read your own account: it cannot change anything, move money, or see other users’ accounts. Each answer contains only information related to the question asked, drawn from this complete list:
- Accountwhether it is an artist or a label account, how many artist slots are active and when the next one expires, and your wallet balance (available and total).
- Artiststhe names of your artists, the names they are delivered to stores under, how many releases each has, and an artist ID the assistant uses to ask a follow-up question.
- Releasestitle, credited artists, UPC, release type, label name, language, number of tracks, the date it was created, release date and scheduled date, review and delivery status with the date each status was reached and how long it has been waiting, counts of your releases by status, the reviewer’s requested changes, whether files are still missing, your smartlink and store links and the stores still missing, and a release ID the assistant uses to ask a follow-up question.
- Trackstitle, ISRC, duration, whether it is marked explicit, and the percentage and status of each royalty split on it.
- Streamsstream counts by store, month, release, track or artist, and the newest day the data covers; for TikTok, views, video creations, likes, shares and favorites.
- Earningsamounts in US dollars by store, country, month, release or track; lifetime totals for your own releases, your splits and referral rewards; and an estimate for streams not yet paid.
- Payoutswhether you can withdraw now and, if not, why; the minimum and maximum you can withdraw; which kind of payout method is saved (bank or PayPal, never its details); and your pending and past withdrawals with amount, status, dates and any reason one was declined.
- Royalty splitsfor splits on your tracks, the collaborator’s display name as you entered it, the track and release, the percentage, the status, whether the invitation has expired, and what has been paid through it; for splits you receive, the track, release and artist, the percentage, the status and what you have earned.
- Meta adswhether a Meta ad account is connected and whether the connection needs renewing; if one is, the ad account’s currency and how many other ad accounts are connected; for each campaign and ad, its name, status, budget, end date and the release it promotes; spend, impressions, link clicks, taps through to a streaming service, pre-saves, Instagram profile visits and video watch rates; how your cost per tap compares with what artists usually pay; the countries targeted and spend by country; the Autopilot verdict; and suggested next steps, which may quote the start of the caption of one of your own Instagram posts.
- Explanationsshort notes from MOOSYC on what a figure means and how far the data reaches, the filters the question used, and which follow-up question could narrow it down.
- What it never receivesyour name, email address, phone number, postal address, sign-up date or IP address; your password, payment card details, bank or PayPal account details or tax ID; the names of your Meta ad accounts; other people’s email addresses; or any other user’s account data beyond the names of the tracks, releases and artists you share a split with. Answers contain no session, request or other internal identifiers beyond the release and artist IDs above, no debugging, diagnostic or logging data, and dates without times of day.
- Purposeanswering the questions you ask the assistant about your account.
- Recipientsthe AI provider you connected receives the information needed to answer each question, and handles it under its own privacy policy and terms.
- What we keepa record of each connection (which app, when you approved it, and when it last renewed its access) and a log of which kinds of information it requested and when. We never receive your conversations with the assistant. How long we keep these is set out under Retention & security.
- Your controlyou can disconnect at any time in Profile → MOOSYC MCP, which ends the assistant’s access immediately, as does changing your password or deleting your account. You can also remove MOOSYC in the assistant’s own settings.
06Meta ad accounts you connect
You can choose to connect your own Meta business assets (an ad account, a Facebook Page, an Instagram professional account and a dataset) to your MOOSYC account, to run and measure ads for your releases. Nothing is shared until you approve the connection in Meta’s own window, where you choose which of your assets MOOSYC may use.
- What we receive from Metathe name and ID of the Meta account that approved the connection; the ad accounts, Pages, Instagram accounts and datasets you chose; the campaigns and ads in the ad account you connected and their results, such as the amount spent, impressions and clicks; the name, picture and follower count of your Page and Instagram account; and your own Instagram posts with their view and reach numbers.
- What we do with itshow you your ads and their results in your dashboard; create, pause and change campaigns in your ad account when you ask us to; pause an ad that spends without bringing listeners while Autopilot is on; and show you which of your own posts could run as an ad.
- What we never dowe do not sell information received from Meta, share it with other MOOSYC users, or use it for any purpose other than providing this feature to the account that connected it.
- Your release pageswhile a dataset is connected, we send Meta events about visits to your MOOSYC release pages (a page view, a tap through to a streaming service, a pre-save), so that your campaigns can be measured. Each event carries the technical details Meta needs to match it, namely the visitor’s IP address and browser information and, where present, Meta’s own click and browser identifiers. The events go to your own dataset in your Meta account, where Meta handles them under its own terms. We keep our own record of these visits, without the IP address, to show you which ad brought which listeners.
- What we keepthe access Meta issued for your connection, stored encrypted, and the ad accounts, ads, results and profile information read through it. How long we keep these is set out under Retention & security.
- Your controlyou can disconnect at any time on the Meta Ads page. We then delete what we received through that connection and give up our access on Meta’s side; ads that are already running stay in your Meta ad account. You can also remove MOOSYC under Business integrations in your Facebook settings, or ask us to delete this information by writing to privacy@moosyc.com.
07International data transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data.
08Retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as we need it to provide the Service or to meet legal obligations, for these periods:
- Your accountAccount information, music content, analytics, payout details, support conversations, and the usage and diagnostic data linked to your account are kept while your account is open. When you delete your account, your access ends immediately and we delete this information from our systems within 30 days.
- Financial recordsInvoices, payments, and payout records are kept for 7 years after the transaction, as tax and accounting law requires.
- BackupsEncrypted backups are overwritten on our regular backup cycle within 90 days.
- AI assistants you connectThe connection record is kept while the connection is active. When you disconnect, the assistant’s access ends immediately and its credentials are deleted automatically 30 days later. The log of which kinds of information an assistant requested is kept for 12 months, then deleted.
- Meta ad accounts you connectThe information received from Meta is kept while the connection is active and is deleted when you disconnect or delete your account. Our own records of visits to your release pages are kept while your account is open.
- Records we must keepA record of an account deletion request, and records of fraud, chargebacks, or copyright abuse, are kept only as long as needed for that purpose or as the law requires.
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.
09Your rights & choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access or correct your personal information.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Restrict or object to certain processing activities, including the use of your information for our own ads (see "Our own ads").
- Withdraw consent for optional communications, such as marketing.
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.
You can delete your account at any time from within the Service. Subject to legal obligations, associated personal data will be deleted.

10Children’s privacy
MOOSYC is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
12Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email where appropriate.
